Diary of an antique dealer

QUEST...the centre of the antiques trade .....antiQUESTrade............USA AUCTIONS

18th September 2009 Liverpool England.

I have just chaired a meeting on a very uncomfortable chair. (I wish I had been sitting on this magnificent Gothic Windsor chair in the picture) with 20 of the hardest working and knowledgeable British antique dealers from Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and of cause England.

The gist of the meeting is that 14 of the 20 dealers have agreed to join forces and putting together a series of auctions in the USA. They will be organised and will be overseen by my self.

The name of the operation is QUEST 2010

Quest ( the centre of the antiQUES Trade )  will be planning a series of auctions of British antiques and collectibles and reproduction items in Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and Atlanta.

Atlanta, Georgia has been chosen as the first city for my team to visit in late September 2009 to choose an auction house that has the foresight and location suited for this venture.

If you are an auction house operating in the above cities or with in a 30 mile radius of those cities then please contact John Nolan or a member of my team. C/O jcmnolan@hotmail.com.

This exciting new venture should be up and running at the beginning of 2010. Over 5 million sterling pounds worth of the finest items have been earmarked for these series of auctions..

The items will include pieces that have been owned by the British hierarchy, the rich and famous. From stately homes and the manor houses of Britain to country furniture from the quaint cottages of England. The Farm house of Wales. The Highlands of Scotland and rural areas of beautiful Ireland.

As antiques have never been so low in price in Britain due to the low price of the Pound. Now is the time to move into the antique market. Gold has now hit all record highs. The property market is still stagnant. The next investment to move into according to the financial experts is antiques.

May be Michael now he has retired would like to pass an opinion and give a comment.
